Tool

Set-time calculator

Paste one piece per line with its run time. The calculator adds transitions and a laugh or applause buffer, totals the set, and compares it with your slot.

Examples: Landlord bit 2:45, Song 3 - 3:30, Closer 90s, Intro 1.5m. A bare number counts as minutes. Up to 40 lines.

How the calculation works

  1. Each piece's run time is multiplied by the buffer. A 3:00 bit with a 10% buffer counts as 3:18.
  2. The transition time is added between pieces, not before the first or after the last.
  3. The total is compared with your slot. Within 15 seconds either way counts as on time.

Limitations

The buffer is an estimate. Real audience response varies from room to room, so record shows and adjust the percentage from your own timestamps. Nothing you enter is stored, but your set list appears in the page address after you submit.
